Ms. Hoppe's Science class
Hi students, parents and guardians!
Welcome to our class page. I hope you are all doing well! I have missed you. We are starting online learning on Wednesday April 1st. We are in very unusual times with this pandemic and I know that can create a lot of uncertainty and stress. I hope that time doing school work and connecting with classmates will provide some normalcy and give you a new focus for your energy to keep you learning and growing. All content for our class will be linked off of our google classroom page and we will sometimes link into Pearson Realize and Discovery Education. Students will have work assigned on Monday to be completed that week at your own pace. During the week, we will have set times for online science meet ups (the google hangout call in numbers/websites are on the google classroom page under resources) for each class to get information and connect with students and teachers. Below is the schedule for classes. There is also time provided for students to get help or ask more questions during office hours.
There are helpful links on this page to help you can find your google classroom or the units of study, so you know what we are working on. If you have any questions or concerns feel free to email me at email@example.com . I look forward to seeing you again! It has been too long. Please let me know if I can be of assistance!

Chrome books are available through the district if you do not have access to a computer at home. Information on internet connections is below.
We recognize some of our families may have limited or no access to the internet. See below for free and low-cost options from external providers:
Comcast’s Internet Essentials is offering two free months for their Internet Essentials package for eligible households. For more information on if your family is eligible and to apply, visit their website or call 1-855-846-8376.
Xfinity is providing Free WiFi For Everyone in many neighborhoods for a limited time. Many Xfinity Wifi hotspots across the country will be available to anyone who needs them for free. Search for a public WiFi hotspot near you. If you locate a free wifi hotspot in your neighborhood, you can connect with these instructions.
The fastest solution for families to get online may be using their personal smartphone as a hotspot. Families need to check with their cellular carrier/provider to know if using their personal smartphone as a hotspot will incur fees for overages of data use. See instructions for how to use your phone as a hotspot: Android instructions | Apple iPhone instructions
If you need additional support with internet connectivity, please send an email with the details of your request to firstname.lastname@example.org. In your email, please include your student’s name and school, contact information and the preferred way to reach you.
