The International School Parent/Guardians:

Back to School Night - Please mark your calendars for our Back to School Night on Tuesday, August 14 from 4:00-6:30 p.m. We will begin the evening with a family barbeque starting at 4 p.m. on the playground in the back of the school. Students and their families are encouraged to attend the barbeque and enjoy a hot dog, chips, and a drink for no charge. Staff will be available at the barbeque from 4-4:30 p.m. and then will be in classrooms from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Parents/guardians and students are welcome to tour the school and classrooms throughout the evening. Students should not bring school supplies to Back to School Night. Class schedules will not be distributed during Back to School Night as it an open house. Students will receive their schedules during the first week of school.
First Day of School - The first day of school for students is Wednesday, August 15. On August 15, sixth graders will attend school in the morning from 8:30-11:30 a.m. and seventh and eighth graders will attend from 11:30 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. There will be NO breakfast or lunch served on August 15. The first full day of school for all students will be Thursday, August 16. Students will have their school pictures and ID picture taken on August 20.
Beginning of the Year Training Camp – Students at the sixth, seventh, and eighth grades will participate in a grade level training camp to start the school year. During Training Camp, students will participate in team building activities and various activities through which school expectations are introduced and reinforced. School administrators, teachers, and counselors will facilitate additional sessions that focus on school safety, conflict resolution/problem solving, preparing for high school, organization, and the growth mindset.
School Supplies – Students should not bring school supplies to school the first week of school. They will not need supplies until Monday, August 20. Further information will be given to students during the first few days of school. The school supply list is located here.
Student Dress Code - A reminder that The International School has a dress code. Students must wear a plain collared shirt in blue, grey, white, or black. The shirt cannot have any writing, logos, graphics or patterns on them. Students can wear jeans, khaki pants, shorts, or skirts. Shorts and skirts cannot be higher than 3 inches above the knee. Jeans cannot have holes or tears in them.
