Our Principal

Hello Thornton Middle School families and community! We are so thrilled to start our 2025-2026 school year! We hope you had a fun summer and that all our students come back ready to learn!

My name is Martin McCarthy and I am now serving my 5th year as Principal here at Thornton Middle School and I love our students, staff and community! If you ever need anything, please feel free to reach out.

First Day of School/Back To School

Back To School Night is scheduled for Thursday August 7th 4:30pm - 7:00pm.  Join us to pick up your schedule, check out the school, drop of school supplies, meet teachers, try your lockers, see friends and plan for a great school year!  

There will be a 6th Grade Orientation on Monday August 11th from 8:40am - 11:50am.  Buses will run. Breakfast and Lunch are NOT provided on August 11th.  

The First Day of School for all students is Tuesday August 12th!

We are amped up for our school year to begin!
