I studied at Metro State College and graduated in 2001 with a BA emphasis in Secondary Language Arts with a minor in Spanish. After teaching 8th grade LA for several years, I completed my MA in Education with an emphasis on k-12 literacy. For many years, I worked as a reading interventions teacher for 6-8. After TIS made some signifiant schedule shifts, I began teaching 6th grade ELA. I have been teaching 6th grade for over 10 years and I LOVE it. I am also the Language Arts' Department Chair/ Instructional Leader. This year marks my 17th year at The International School at Thornton Middle.
ONLINE Learning and Updates
While practicing social distancing, we will be learning together online. I will be connecting and communicating with you primarily through our Google Classroom. You are always welcome to email me with questions and concerns as well.
- Attendance will be taken through your weekly participation as proven by the work you complete in Google Classroom.
- While a set time for each class will be provided, there will be recordings available for those who cannot attend at a specific time.
- I will be assigning work (along with providing links to supports and instruction) to be completed over the course of a week.
- The assignments will be posted by Monday mornings at 8 am and "collected" by Friday at 4pm each week.
