Hello there! I am so excited to start my journey at Thornton Middle School as an Instructional Coach!
I grew up in Colorado and did my K-12 education in the St. Vrain Valley School District. After high school I went to CU Boulder to earned my B.A. in Mathematics and Psychology and then finished with getting my teaching certificate. During my time working on my undergraduate degrees at CU I spent time as an Instructor’s Assistant with the McNeill program and then as an Instructor after graduation. During the summers I also worked as an instructor with two Pre-Collegiate programs. After obtaining my teaching license I worked as a math teacher at Pomona High School in the Jefferson County School District for 2 years.
Then my husband and I decided to adventure, with our son, to Washington state where we spent the last 6 years. I taught high school math and took part in various leadership opportunities throughout the school and the state. Throughout our time in Washington we realized that Colorado was our home and we want our son to grow up closer to family, so we moved back!
Some of my favorite things are to have discussions around math and education. I also really enjoy nature, learning, and taking adventures and sharing experiences with my family and friends. My primary goal for my career is to provide opportunities for individuals to grow and reach their potential through facilitating environments that are productive, safe, supportive, and inclusive.
I am excited to be working with this community and can’t wait to see what we can all accomplish working together!
