I am so excited for my 7th year here at The International School at Thornton Middle and my 3rd year as one of the instructional coaches. I was an English Language Development (ELD) teacher for my first four years. I was born in South Korea and grew up in Lakewood, Colorado. After graduating from University of Colorado at Boulder with my bachelor's in Communication, I decided I wanted to become a teacher. I then earned my master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from University of Colorado, Denver and began my teaching career at a middle school in Westminster. Fast forward ten years, I returned to teaching after being a stay-at-home mom; this time I taught English as a Second Language (ESL) and was the Program Director at Front Range Community College. In my seventeen plus years as an educator, I have taught students of all ages -- children through adults -- from over 60 different countries, trained and mentored countless number of teachers, and created and implemented curricula. On my personal time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our three children, reading, and exploring the beautiful Colorado mountains. I look forward to a fantastic year of learning and growing!
