I am so excited to be The International School at Thornton Middle School's Social Emotional Learning Specialist! I have experience working in the special education department as a Speech Language Pathologist for students from preschool-high school. I have also been an assistive technologist specialist. I specialize in supporting students with ADHD, Autism spectrum disorder, or who have difficulty with social-communication skills but may not have any diagnosis.
I went to college in Minnesota and earned a bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in Spanish. In college, I studied in Chile for a semester and lived with a family which helped me to improve my Spanish. I went to University of Colorado at Boulder for my degree in Speech Language Pathology and have continued attending conferences and learning more about supporting people with social-communication difficulties ever since. I have two children, ages 4 and 6.
