I am beginning my 11th year here at The International School at Thornton Middle (TIS) as a 7th grade language arts teacher. Originally not from Colorado, I grew up in many states following my father who is retired from the United States Air Force, but I have fallen in love with the Rocky Mountains and consider Colorado my forever home. The youngest of three, I am lucky to work alongside my older sister, Carrie Aylor, who is also teaching 7th grade language arts here at TIS. Together, we make a great team dedicated to our students.
I attended Middle Tennessee State University and earned a Bachelor's degree in English. Once in Colorado, I attended University of Colorado at Boulder and earned a Master's degree, specifically Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education. I am someone who believes that education is the most powerful tool a person can have, and it allows everyone to grow and become more globally-minded. Outside of my classroom I enjoy running, hiking, and spending time with my husband and two dogs, Beso and Rue. I've also recently celebrated my son, Caleb's, third birthday on July 24th.
